If I choose to own a Poodle or a Bull Mastiff is my decision, and should never be delegated to the whims of council. What is also my decision becomes my responsibility. If it is my Poodle or Bull Mastiff that bites/ terrorizes or otherwise threatens the public, I should be held responsible not my dog-whom is acting in accordance to his training/upbrining.
I urge the Council members to enact an ordinance that holds all dog owners responsible regardless of breed. Only then will the public be safe from nuisance / dangerous dogs.
It may intrest the readers to know I do not own either a Poodle or Bull Mastiff.
I would urge them all to encourage their officials to support generic dog laws and not breed specific legislation or ban.
