We should really get a movie theater here in town or something. We really need something to do. Not like we're asking for a full scale amusement park. Just SOMETHING. |

transfering to area. have looked briefly at louisville, superior, and north boulder. the homes in n. boulder seemed a bit older than we were looking for. considering, but haven't been to lyons yet. have a child that will be starting grade school in september. family area with good, smallish grade schools, and alot of sports type activity for kids and adults are key. can you get a home built newer than 1990 that's at least 3000 sq ft in these areas? which ones have advantages? i work from home so need a larger home. our budget is not more than $500k. any info on these areas would help. taking in all opinions.  ...

My partner and I are looking for people that would like to submit photographs of small towns in Nebraska. We also need scenery pictures to add to the highways we will be setting up on the Nebraska Travel InfoMap. We have a website that is a travel guide and we have just finished South Dakota and getting started with the history and trivia of Nebraska. You can go to our website and look at South Dakota. I don't think you will see another one like it. The website is http://www.travelinfomap.com. We want to do the entire midwest (26 states) before we get too senile to remember what we are doing Marlo & Betty |

How high are property taxes? In 2007 my property tax was $2336 for .17 of an acre. I had applied for Maryland's homeowner's credit - got that with my total income being less than 30K . Does Michigan have something like homeowner's credit?

How is Detroit laid out?
In the Metro-Washington DC area, we talk geographically when talking about what happens. Saturday night news talked about shootings in northeast or northwest or southeast or southwest DC. Or the cities around, although the cities are in different counties of either Virginia or Maryland. Now the new crimewave is syphoning gas out of your tank. Gas is at $3.61 per gallon when I last saw it.
Are the police undermanned? Are there more criminals?
There is heavy poverty here also when one loses employment or they lose their homes because of Adjustable Rate Mortgages. People and some county governments are frustrated with the illegal immigrant popula...

Would you know any links where a single woman would stay - live until I find a permanent place to live? I now live in southern Maryland - 50 miles from Washinton DC. I have been considered for employment by an employer which mentioned that I may be transferred to Detroit or stay in the Washington DC area to work.
Sincerely Thank you ahead,

Hello, My family is thinking about moving to the corpus christi area. I have heard many negative opinions about Corpus Christi. Portland seems to sound good. We are looking for somewhere with a lot of fun things to do, somewhere to raise a family, and a place with jobs. Does anyone have any opinions? |

Can anyone tell me about Margate? My husband and I are planning on moving to Florida, from Salem, Ma., to be closer to my family who live in Fort Lauderdale. The prices of homes and taxes seems to be lower in Margate, than Fort Lauderdale. Any information would be greatly appreciated. |

I've lived in the city of Homewood, Alabama for over seven years. Homewood is a well kept and oragnized community that anyone would love to be apart of; however the face of prejudice is never hidden. |

I have heard on other blogs that St.Lucie has a problem with smells from sewage and the city has not built in sidewalks. I was looking at St Lucie as a possible place to relocate and escape the Michigan Winters. It is horrible and taxing on my arthritis. Where couldone research in Florida as a possible place to move to? Please give as much info as you can on property, taxes, jobs, diversity etc.

For you own safety, do NOT visit Peoria. Last time I visited, we stayed at a Ramada on War Memorial. We came back from dinner around midnight. I had hiccups, so I sat by the closed pool area (the sight and sound of water sometimes makes hiccups go away). Almost immediately a worm of a night clerk came over and ordered me to leave. I started to explain why I wanted to sit there (quietly, without booze or music or women) he whipped out his cell and called 911. Not wanted police trouble, I went back to the room immediately. Within minutes, four Peoria cops knocked on the door, put me in handcuffs (no kidding), then threw me, my wife, our two young daughters (crying hy...

I am trying to find out some information about Albright, Preston County. There is not a lot to be found on simple internet searches, I have yet to go to the library. I am wondering if anyone knows when Albright was founded. I know that the land was named for the landowner, David Albright who moved to Preston County in the early 1800s, his children were born here around 1815. He was born in PA but died here in Albright, Preston County, VA 1858 (WV did not become its own until 1863). If anyone can help me out with when Albright become a town or community, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much....

There is a bridge on Inman St. and Parker St. My Criminal Jusice class is wanting to get that fixed. As you're coming under the bridge, you're immediatly in front of a red light. You don't really have time to think about anything. So what we'd like to get done is get a warning light on both side of the bridge; raise the lights, and put a camera up on the end of the lights so the ones who run the red lights will get a ticket. This way wa can stop wrecks.
