The scenery is absolutley beautiful, but if you are planning on making meaningful relationships with townspeople here-it doesn't happen, they want no one new to the area. The hospital is growing fast and as long as you want to be a puppet on a string then this is the place. Plains does not want any thinkers here, don't disagree with anyone. We have been here 5 years and have watched people come and go for the above reasons. We too have experienced this same attitude by many. The people are friendly as long as you agree with them and don't think for yourself. I once was told that you have to be here 20 years before you are part of the "click". It depends what you want in life-if you come for the tranquility of the surroundings then this is the place, but if you come for friendship and relationships or for jobs this is not the place.
