I grew up in Springfield during the 60's. I go back at least once a year as of the last 15 years. yes there have been alot of changes, and sure Springfield's motto should be; 'Springfield, you've probably driven through it before' I like the place, to me its still home, I know Tech is closed and there are no more Forbes or Steiger's or Johnson's Books and kids don't hang around the falls in 16 acres any more, but really, the place never really changes, sure the complection of Springfield has changed when I was a lad, but so has every place, when you think about it. The food is still good, and I'm getting to think it might not be a bad place to retire, except for the cold. Listen, I've lived all over the world, in the U.S., Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, Houston (where I live now)LA, Dallas. Sure you have crime, but try these places mentioned and see how bad you really have it. One day I'll be back. Oh yes, when it comes to recommending Springfield to the uninitiated, I don't. However, it works for me.
