Hello Tennessee:  I finally purchased my retirement home the end of 06 - anyone on this board in or around Camden?  I found the house by accident - was searching in TX - and forgot to hit the drop down and TN homes showed up.  Bought the house sight unseen and was extremely happy when I actually saw it for the first time.  What I need to know - what are the utilitity costs like?  

I've read some forums that TN is not the place to retire; I like to think that as long as you have a roof over your head, food in your belly, a good Preacher, and your health - you should be happy.  I make my own happiness wherever I park it - so please don't tell me the negatives, if there are any - I'll find out on my own.

Purchased Home and 56 acres 21st of dec. 2007,  It is now July 4 2008 I love it.  I love the town it is like stepping back in time 40 years.  The people are so friendly and helpful.  The utility services are the best I have ever found.  Taxes are reasonable, my electric utility bill has went from 450.00 per month in hillsborough county florida to 160.00 per month.

If you are looking for laid back retirement this is not the place for you.  If you want to stay busy Fishing, play golf, hunting, gardening this is the place you  want to be.  Yes I drive 10 miles to town for shopping etc.  But it is so nice to be able to sit on your front porch and no cars racing down the street, no loud boomboxes.  Peace and Quiet it is here in Camden Tennessee
