Senior citizens on fixed income but not poverty status are being taken advantage of by policies of Howard Community Hosp. regarding ambulance transfers to Indps....With Medicare and private supplement policies being reflections of each other a claim reported to Medicare untruthfully by the director of ambulance services can end up costing the Senior Citizen dearly. Not to mention the emotional stress on a newly discharged patient...I for one plan to take my further hospital needs directly to Indps or St. Joe unless I get a letter of apology and a report of a corrected claim to Medicare. I don't know about you, but my Supplemental insurance says I have the right to choose my own caregiver and if I have been seeing specialists in Indy for two years I consider them my Doctor.
