Oh my goodness, it's 80 outside today.  Looks like I don't have to move to San Diego after all.

I put up a post in the Boston area about this -- asking what makes think that Winter has begun...

Is it the first snow? Christmas break?... go reply to my post.

Technically speaking, the first day of Winter is December 22.  To me, though, it's the first time I get up in the morning and the ground is covered with frost.

I think winter begins with the first snow that falls and stays more than one day. It lasts until the last big snowpile is down to a little muddy heap. Winter lasts about 6 months in Perrinton, Michigan!  

I'm thinking of relocating to mraleigh from minneapolis freezing here. What do you like most about raleigh?

Winter is on it's last legs (finally). Although there are still a few of those ugly piles of dirty snow melting in parking lots...

Yes indeed.  Beautiful, sunny day!  Pretty soon we will be seeing the layers of clothing coming off.  This is my favorite part of the better weather.
